Floating and Sinking
Try this enquiry at home and post your results on the Blog or make an information poster that I can put up in the school library.
Resources: a ball of clay/plasticine, a bowl of water.
What to do:
Put the ball of clay into the tank to see if it floats or sinks.
Mould it into different shapes and test them out.
(If you have a digital camera, take a picture of each test shape showing the result. You can add these to your poster or add them to your Blog - I will show you how to do this)
By looking at your results and using information that you find elswhere (the internet, books etc.), can you explain why objects float or sink?
